If you have wind damaged shingles and are in need of DIY roof repair. This video shows how to replace shingles that have blown off. The first step to repair shingles is to remove all remnants of the old damaged shingles, including pulling or pounding in all the nails. Then take your new shingles and starting at the bottom of the damaged area, install them with 5 nails each and using tube roofing tar to make sure they are sealed down. Check the surrounding area for loose shingles and use the tar to seal them before the next wind tears them off too.
