As Christmas lights are the cornerstone of our business, many people don’t realize that there are wonderful opportunities to incorporate pro-grade Christmas lights into custom summer lighting solutions. Before you begin: always follow proper safety guidelines and be sure you're using professional quality Christmas products. Buy your Christmas decorations from the same sources that professional Christmas installers buy from.

Installation steps:
1. Focusing on the front-facing areas of the magnolia trees, grab your empty socket line and a female vampire plug, installing the plug to the end of your run. Weaving the light line in a U-shaped pattern along the length of the tree, secure the strings of light to the branches with black zip ties as shown in the demonstration.

2. We recommend using a ladder and partner for an easier installation. When the front and sides of the tree are covered in light line, add your bulbs to the sockets. You can cover any unused sockets with caps so they resist dirt and remain usable for future projects.

3. Once you’ve reached the end of your light line or tree, terminate the line with a male vampire cord. Grab your 18-2 zip cord, attaching a female plug to continue from the last line, and run your zip cord to the base of the next tree.

4. Important note: your maximum run for a 18/2 gauge light line is 250 feet or 250 bulbs, whichever comes first. Don’t run the risk of overamping your Christmas light display: view our video on maximum amperage loads at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8aL2XcKGM4

5. After you’ve completed your light line coverage and installing the bulbs, connect your extension cord and timer to a nearby outdoor outlet. Plug in your lights and enjoy the beautiful new scene in your backyard.
