Hey Good People! Good design can make all the difference. As we face a changing climate here in the West, with longer, hotter, and dryer summers...Xeriscape (a low-water usage landscape design), is becoming more and more popular. I think low-water landscapes are great, but I also want people to know that Xeriscape doesn't have to mean Zero-scape. You can still have a beautiful, green, and lush feeling landscape with the proper low-water, drought hearty plants...changing out grass turf for other soft, lush ground covering plants, creating depth and height with appropriate drought tolerate trees and ornamental grasses. The garden should always be a soft, soothing, and inviting space. Remember you don't have to give up a beautiful garden to conserve water.
