This is a quick rundown on how I install the last run of my hardwood flooring since I always install all of my doors, door casings and baseboard first. I will then have the painters come in and prime and finish coat the walls, caulk everything and one coat the trim. I prefer to install my hardwood this way. These floors are expensive and the less time I have to spend covering and protecting the finished floor, the better. Since the floors are one of the last projects going in on my houses, I don't have that long term worry about other trades or subs potentially scratching, denting, spilling paint or what not, anything can happen.
This was a 5" natural hickory purchased through Floor & Decor. It was a glue assist install per manufacturers specifications. I always use cleat fasteners and exclusively use the PowerNail air gun. I feel the cleats hold better than any other fastener types out there and the gun is bulletproof. I am using the 18 gauge 50P model.
This is not a sponsored video. I have used these products and tools for years and stand behind them. If I am using a specific tool on any of my projects, then naturally I highly recommend it.
