How to install prefinished hardwood flooring. NOTE: A lot of people have commented that the hardwood floors are going in out of sequence and that electrical, plumbing and sheetrock should be done first. They are correct. However, this is a small cabin on a trailer, and I did it out of sequence on purpose. Also, I didn't even use sheetrock, I used 1/8" paneling for weight concerns. The trailer ended up weighing approx. 10,000lbs when we were done. I do mention this in the video, but not very thoroughly. So please follow this process for new construction projects.
- Framing
-Exterior Sheathing
- Get the roof done (no leaks to ruin your nice new floor)
-Exterior Wall Wrap
- Rough-in electrical and plumbing
- Insulation
- Sheetrock (dyrwall)
- Then flooring
- Install Cabinets
- Install Doors
- Install Trim
- Trim out electrical
- Paint
