1972 house with cosmetic vertical spalling. Foundation company assured me it was purely cosmetic and wanted $1200 to fix. I couldn't find any videos on how to fix this problem, so I did some research and went to the local hardware store, spent $100 and fixed it myself chronicling my steps. Spalling is a result of water getting behind the concrete over time and making the re bar rust. Water, heat and cold form the seasons make the void expand and contract and eventually cracks the concrete facade.
